Our Editor-in-Chief has worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Royal Columbian Hospital since 2009 and received her PhD at Simon Fraser University, studying ways to reduce the negative effects of mechanical ventilation on lung structure and function. About the CJRT

The CJRT is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal owned and published by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT), with publishing services provided by Canadian Science Publishing. Indexed in PMC (PubMed Central), Scopus/Embase, Google Scholar, CINAHL, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the CJRT has been published continuously since 1965. We strive to publish manuscripts that describe effective interventions that increase access to and quality of clinical respiratory health interventions, including the organization and delivery of care in hospitals, the community, and throughout the continuum of care by health care providers.

Our goal is to generate evidence and discussion to support more effective and equitable access to respiratory therapy and care for patients in Canada and around the world. While many of our contributors are respiratory therapists, we welcome submissions from all related health professionals and researchers. The journal provides an essential platform for professionals engaged in respiratory therapy to publish and consume inclusive, discipline-specific, practice-driven knowledge. We employ rigorous methodology mandated by standardized guidelines to disseminate innovative research that fills a niche. CJRT provides researchers, clinicians, managers, educators and trainees with original research, Systematic, Narrative and Scoping reviews, Innovations in Practice, Case Reports and Commentaries.

In addition to research papers, the CJRT welcomes Letters to the Editor, Commentaries or Editorials as a quick way of sharing information with your fellow healthcare professionals. The Editor-in-Chief evaluates all manuscripts upon submission. Those rejected before being sent to review have serious scientific flaws, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal. Those that meet the criteria are assigned to Associate Editor, who will select two peer reviewers with expertise in the subject matter. The CJRT uses "double blind" reviewing, where the referees and author remain anonymous throughout the process.
